  3. 6 feet of ¾ inch oak or cedar trim board
  4. SledgeHammer
  5. Ladder
  6. Brads
  7. A friend to help for holding up the fence post

Step 1- Pick a proper spot for a bird table

  1. Bird table should be out in the open and away from the tress, so that squirrels do not eat your bird’s food.
  2. The placing of bird table should be visible to monitor the birds.
  3. Bird table place should be away from the other animal’s cage, cannels, or usual roaming spots.

According to your choice, birds comfort and preferences, choose the perfect spot, and get ready to put your fence post.

Step 2- Put in the post

Have your friend or the helper to hold up the fence post straight , so that you can climb up your ladder and hammer the post into the ground. It should go deep in the ground. For a 9-foot post, you want it to go at least a 1 ½ feet into the soil. For the longer post, hammer it deeper into the soil.

Step -3 Make a table

Now, cut your trim down so that it fits the edges of the square board. Use a brad nailer or a hammer and brads to tack it into the edges; it will help you to keep the food at one place. Moreover, it will also aid your bird by giving it a place to perch.

Step 4 - Assemble and fill the bird table

Lay your table board on top of the post and screw it properly with 2-inch screw. Make sure it is tight, since it keeps your bird table steady and not spin in the wind. Put some birdseed, suet, or the table scraps on the bird table and walk away.
