- A powerful electric drill to put the bird entrance hole in the center
- A one inch drill bit to drill the hole
- A drill bit to drill holes for the string to hang it up
- A marker and ruler to find the center of the board
- Medium grit sandpaper to smoothen the rough edges of wood
- A piece of cereal box to cut to fit the end of the pot and cover up the holes in birdhouse.
- Scissor to cut the cereal box
- A string to hang the bird house
- Glue guns
- Lost of shells, pinecones, pebbles, or driftwood to decorate the birdhouse.
Instructions to Build a Wooden Birdhouse
- The first step in starting the project, get out a pot and piece of cereal box.
- Cut the piece of cereal box, so that it fits inside the pot, and glue it into the inside areas.
- Get the two pieces of wood pieces nailed properly. You can also put some scrap pieces of wood at the bottom to protect the floor.
- On the back piece of ruler, draw an X with the help of a ruler from corner to corner to find the center for the circle.
- Using the drill machine and one inch bit, hold the piece of wood in place and put the little point of the drill bit in the center of the X. Make a hole in the center with the help of two pieces of wood. You can use sandpaper here, to smooth it off.
- The use of drill depends on the string use. Drill two holes in the top to thread the string through it.
- Using the drill or a screwdriver, attach the pot to the back of the wood piece. They need two or four corners with screw in them, and crack the pot. Screw at the top and bottom corner.
- Now, comes the fun part which you will enjoy doing! Decorate the front of your wooden birdhouse to invite your feathered friends using the decorative material like shells, driftwood, pinecones, or pebbles etc.
