  • Suet feeders are for the birds that are slightly large in size. The birds like the jays, mocking birds and even the woodpeckers would prefer this kind of feeder. They are generally the shape of a cage and are specially designed to hold the suet blocks.

Garden decor bird feeders are excellent source of food for birds but these are often damaged by the intrusion of squirrels. To keep the feeders away from the clutches of the squirrels you may hang them at a certain height that may not allow the rodent to reach the feeder. Hanging the feeders with rods made up of wrought iron can be a good idea. You may also try out by cutting the bottom of a 5 ml plastic bottle and fix it along the post to discourage the squirrels to climb up to the feeder.

You can purchase a garden decor bird feeder that has easy refilling provisions. In case you have bought a wood garden feeder, be sure of the feeder being not made up of lumber wood. Lumber woods may turn out to be toxic during the wet seasons. Do not remove the feeder until the winter season has passed. Food during winters become scarce and hence, the garden decor bird feeders would be good feeding ports for many local birds.
