Anubias spp.

A group of bog plants from tropical Africa which grow very slowly but eventually form large specimen plants
of great beauty. They have tough waxy leaves up to 12cm (43/4in) in length, carried on 15cm (6in) stems in a stiff spray. Dwarf forms are available. Because of their slow growth rate, these plants command high prices, variegated types with silvery leaves being especially expensive. Grow in a mixture of loam and peat, under subdued light. Propagate by division of therhizome. They prefer neutral-to-acid pH and soft water.
