Burmese brown tortoise
Burmese brown tortoise is the largest tortoise in Asia that can grow up to 24 inch in length and 20 kg in weight. It is a land animal with elephantine hind limbs and web less feet. They are mostly found in Assam, Myanmar, Thailand, Sumatra, Borneo and Malay peninsular. They are vigorous in the morning and evening and like to bask or wander during a cold day. - Enclosure for Burmese brown tortoise: These tortoises require large enclosures to grow properly. They should be provided with indoor enclosure as they don’t like sunlight. The outdoor enclosure of Burmese brown tortoise must have large insulated heated shed with a well planted area. Plenty of water should be served to pet Burmese brown tortoise as they drink lots of water and like to soak for extended period. The humidity should be high in their enclosure to keep their skin in good condition. The ideal temperature for Burmese brown tortoise is 25 to 28° Celsius. An adult Burmese brown tortoise should be kept at 10degree Celsius. The enclosure must contain lots of hiding place as they love to play and hide in the enclosure. The enclosure of Burmese brown tortoise can be decorated with different plants but make sure that the plants you choose for it are not toxic. - Breeding Burmese brown tortoise: Burmese brown tortoise can breed at any time in the year. During breeding procedure both male and female tortoise will be very gentle to each other. You should not keep more males than females for mating process as males can kill each other in order to mate first. After the mating season female Burmese tortoise will lay eggs in a clutch in the nest. It is your duty to incubate those eggs properly until they hatch.
