Getting a dog to eat a vegetarian diet is possible but it’s not easily accomplished. To formulate such a diet in your kitchen will require a course in canine nutrition, especially when you consider the difference in quantities of certain nutrients that are needed for growth, reproduction, work, and heavy activity. A dog’s nutritional requirements are not the same as that of a human. The dog is a carnivore; we are omnivores. There are some dry food diets on the pet suppy shelves that are vegetarian, and if you can find one of these that is complete and blanced, you could try it.
