Can I Make a Career Out of Dog Grooming?
This is certainly possible, as evidenced by the many grooming businesses in existence. The variety of styles 
required for different breeds means that there is much to learn, particularly if you want to show your dog. In the United States and most other countries, training courses are orgnized through a national grooming association. Contact the AKC for information, or ask a salon in your area if they would be willing to take you on and provide training. It is not just a matter of washing the dog and grooming it; you will need to be able to handle dogs - and their owners - in what can sometimes be fairly stressful situations. Nevertheless, this can be an absorbing career that tgives you the opportunity to work with animals and possibly run your own business eventually.
