Cat Bite
Cats fight each other, especially during mating. Cat fights are more easily broken up than those between cats and dogs. Turn a hose on the cat’s or makes a loud noise. Cat bites are usually more dangerous than those of dogs because they are smaller and close up more rapidly. The wounds can easily become infected and possibly develop into painful abscesses.
Cat bites are visible as small holes. An abscess starts a swelling at the site of the wound and later erupts, exuding a thick yellowish discharge. The cat may run a high temperature (above 102 degrees F.), lose its appetite and become inactive and listless.
Wash all cat bites with hydrogen peroxide, working it into each wound. If the bite wounds abscess, take the cat to the vet.
