Cats Interfere When You Talk on the Telephone Because They are Jealous.
We’ve all had it happen to us a few times. You’re sitting quietly in a room with another person who
suddenly starts talkng, sometimes looking off into the distance, sometimes looking at you.
You don’t see anyone else in the room so you respond to what she is saying. And then, through some look on her face or some change in her position, you realize that she wasn’t talking to you, but to someone on the phone. Only you didn’t realize because the phone cord was hidden under her hair or behind her head.
You have an advantage over cats. You know what a phone is and what it means when you see someone using one. A cat, however, knows only that someone in the room is talking and that no none else is around, so that person must be talking to it. Instead of being jealous, it is doing what is normally does when someone talks with it; it moves in a close to respond, with a rub or a nuzzle.
