Diet given to a dog after pregnancy
After the arrival of each pup, the mother should be fed nutritious food more rich in proteins, minerals and vitamins. In addition, the mother must be fed cooked wheat porridge along with some milk, at least once a day, for a few weeks. Meat broth and the beaten yellow of egg and milk are preferable. She may be offered meals three or four times a day as long as the pups are not weaned. Thereafter, the meals can be gradually reduced to normal. It is important that the mother is able to supply enough milk to her pups; else, they will whine almost constantly.
