Do dogs have emotions?
“Do dogs have emotions?” If this is the question that is bothering you, then you should know that they do have emotions like human beings. Owner can easily come to know about their emotions by their facial expressions, their body language, from the noises their pet makes and from the way they moves. With these signs, owner can easily know whether their pet is happy, sad, frustrated, excited, jealous or stressed.
To understand your dog’s emotion it is obligatory for the owner to provide true love and affectionate to his dog. Try to make them feel secure so that they can share their emotions with you.
Dog usually use body language to show their emotions. The common body movements that would help you understand their emotions are:
Common emotions in dogs:
1. Dog’s tail: The movement of tail can easily signify the dog’s emotion. If the tail is high than it means that the dog is attentive, if it is between the legs than it shows that the dog is frightened and if the fur of the tail get high than it means he is eager for the battle.
2. Dog’s Teeth: if your dog is showing teeth than they are showing aggression. This is a sign that they give to warn people. This should be control calmly and affectionately otherwise the dog can attack you. Dogs show teeth when they smile as well but snarl makes the aggression different from smile.
3. Dog’s ear: If your dog’s ear are erect forward than it shows that he is attentive and if his ears sets back than it shows he is afraid. They usually keep their ear erect forward to keep a look at the surrounding.
4. Dog’s mouth: Mouth expression can easily signify Dog’s eyebrow. When the dog Yawn it means that your dog wants to be left alone. When they try to cover the teeth, it shows that they are happy. When they are in a good mood and want to play than they pant with relaxed lips.
5. Dog’s eyebrow: The way of showing emotion from dog’s eyebrow movements is almost similar to that of human eyebrow’s movement. If the dog’s eyebrow are raised than it means he is showing interest, lowered eyebrows suggest mystification and one eyebrow up suggests panic.
Now as you know that the dogs have emotions, you must try to treat them affectionately and try to understand and deal their emotions effectively. You should cooperate with your dog’s emotions as he can be angry, fearful, or depressed and happy or exited at the same time.
