Dog Appetite Loss TreatmentThough dogs are not found to be fastidious eaters, at times your canine pet may suffer from loss of appetite. Breeds of dogs like the Siberian huskies are known to be quite picky eaters. Loss of appetite in normal healthy pet dog can be of two reasons. Either the dog has been exposed to excess amount of food for a prolonged period of time or it is suffering from any type of disease that has not yet be diagnosed.

If your dog has stopped eating properly you are recommended to take your dog to a vet doctor. Appetite and weight loss may be related to the incidence of many internal diseases like the pancreatitis, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, urinary tract infection (FUS), bowel blockage, constipation, tooth or gum disease, diabetes and such. Effective medication may help your dog to continue with a normal diet. In case you find that in spite of your dog being fit and fine is still suffering from loss of appetite the following ways of regaining appetite might be helpful for your dog.

• If your dog is otherwise a healthy one you may start with a few days of liquid fasting. For a healthy dog undergoing a three to seven days of liquid fasting aided by enemas, honey and herbs will not be affecting the general health of the pet.
• While fasting, your dog can be administered by laxatives, cleansing or detoxifying agents like Aloe Vera and liquid chlorophyll.
• After the dog starts eating you may start giving it kelp (iodine and minerals) in order to balance the thyroid secretion. Along with iodine you may give honey and bee products as well.
• Royal jelly or ginseng can be given to a debilitated pet.
• Keep giving your pet with cat and dog digestive enzymes.

Add a spoon full of apple cider vinegar in the water bowl of your pet. Your pet will get to consume a little amount of HCL or hydrochloric acid while drinking water.
