Dog Chronic Bronchitis
Middle or adult aged small and mid sized breeds of dogs are usually the victims of dog bronchitis. The bronchitis is actually inflammation of one or more bronchioles. The bronchioles are actually tubes that pass through which air passes from the trachea to the lungs. The exact cause behind the development of dog bronchitis is not known but they are usually fatal in case the pets are not properly treated. Young pups often die out of bronchitis.
In case you find that your doggy is suffering from bronchitis, you are recommended to take your pet to a good vet clinic. In order to detect the disease a complete medical examination is done. The medical history of the dog is at first studied. The heart and lungs are studies. The palpitation is felt with hands. Radiography or the X-ray of the chest is taken. Cytology and bacterial culture is also done to detect the cause of the infection. The airway passage is also checked. In some extreme cases diagnosis is done with the aid of electrocardiogram, CBC or complete blood count and arterial blood count.
The treatment of bronchitis is mainly based on the cytology and the culture of the sputum or the tracheobronchial secretions.
