Dog Heatstrokes
Heatstroke occurs when a dog gets subjected under high temperature. Make sure that you never keep your dog in a temperature of over 60 degree Celsius. The inside of cars often gets heated up like an oven in very hot days even if the windows are open. So, never leave your pet inside your car in hot days. Even, during the time of grooming your dog you are recommended not to use the blow drier excessively.
You have to be over cautious in case you own a flat faced dog like a pug or a bull dog. These breeds of dogs are often the victims of heart and lung diseases which cause the dogs to be suffering from heatstrokes quite often. The following are some symptoms of heatstrokes that would help you to detect the disorder quite early.
- The first symptom of your dog being over heated is that you will find the dog to be breathing very harshly.
- The dog would be seen to be drooling. The mucous membranes and the tongue of the dog would be turning red.
- Your over heated dog would also be seen frequently vomiting. In case the dog fails to get relieved through vomiting, the dog becomes unsteady. It gradually staggers and may even get prone to a bloody diarrhea.
- At an advanced condition the gums and the mucous of the animal would turn from red to a bluish tinge.
If not taken under immediate medical attention, the health of the animal will gradually become weak. The untreated animal will ultimately collapse and die.
