Ear Infections
Your dog with an ear infection would probably be seen shaking its head, pawing, or scratching its ears. The ears usually catch hold of infection due to some injury while fighting or playing around. The flop eared dogs like the cocker spaniels are quite prone to ear infections. Chronic forms of ear infections that are mainly caused by the bacteria and the fungal infections are actually indication of suppressed immune system. Parasites are another source of causing ear infections. Ear parasites like ear mites are crumbly bark brown dark discharge that is often accompanied by sensation of intense itching.
Healing ear infection should ideally be done in a natural way. The following are the herbs that would help your dog to get rid of the various ear infections.
• Mullein and garlic ear oil are useful in healing dog ear infection. Before applying the oil clean the ear of your canine pet very well on a regular basis. The oil is ideal for infections that are caused due to fungus or yeast.
• In case of intrusion of any foreign body inside the ear administering rosemary in olive oil would be a good idea.
• You may alter the olive oil with vitamin A.
Take your dog for treatment to a vet clinic in case it has been diagnosed of any immune suppressing disease, which is accompanied by a chronic ear infection.
