Passing out stools for once or twice a day is normal but in case of excreting hard stained or blood tinged stools, probably your dog is suffering from fecal impaction in the lower regions of the rectum. The cause behind the incidence of constipation in dogs is often poor quality diet. Sometimes too much amount of meat and lack of fiber may cause acute constipation. • If the stool of your dog is very hard and dry, almost burnt up, your dog should be administered with Bryonia.

• If the constipation is occurring accompanied by a skin disease the pet should be given to consume Sulfur and in case of gas with simple constipation you should try out with carbo veg.
• Silica should be given to dogs that are suffering from irregular bowel movement.
• Graphites will be an effective medicine if your dog is suffering from alternate session of diarrhea and constipation.
