Pneumonia in rabbits
Pneumonia in rabbit is a disease of lower airways which occurs when there is a severe inflammation in the lungs. The inflammation will lead to dysfunction of the respiratory system. The reason of inflammation can be fungal, viral, bacteria, parasitic infection or any of a foreign object that is inhaled into lungs. The course of pneumonia in rabbits is rapid and can prove deadly in three or four days. The rabbit suffering from pneumonia usually has no appetite and sits huddled and quiet. Causes of Pneumonia in rabbits
The main causes of pneumonia in rabbits are environmental factors such as chemicals, smoke, coma, dental disease and inability of swallow. Pneumonia can be caused due to change in condition such as subjection to draughts or damp.

Treatment of Pneumonia in rabbits:
If you found that your pet rabbit is suffering from pneumonia then you should immediately take infected rabbit to a vet for proper treatment. Your vet will perform some physical exam to diagnose pneumonia and then he will perform the treatment. It is important for rabbit owner to treat this problem in the early stage only as it can become a serious cause of concern if remain untreated for long. The vet will prescribe antimicrobial, antiviral, antibiotics or antifungal depending on the specific organism that has infected.
