Requirements of a pigeon
There are several essential things that a pet pigeon requires in order to survive. One should be aware of the products about the necessities of a pigeon before they own it. In order to keep them in good shape and comfortable, one should provide fulfill there those needs. Things such as – habitat, food feeders, accessories, nest bowls, supplements, maintenance, care are essential for one to provide to their pet pigeon.
Requirements of a pigeon:
1. Housing for pigeon: It is one of the essential requirements of all the pet pigeons. They require proper house to fly and relax. It should be large enough so that pigeons can relax, fly and eat properly.
2. Food for pigeon: Owner should provide healthy and regular food to their pigeon. Mostly pigeons love to feed on grains. One can also purchase commercial pigeon food for their pet pigeon. Fruits such as- berries, apple and pear are also good for pigeon. Whereas, Vegetables such as – lettuce, endive, chickweed, clover, watercress and spinach are highly nutritious and is essential for pigeons. One can compliment their pigeon diet with food such as - Budgie, millet spray and canary mix. Make sure that these foods are served in small pieces so that your pigeon can digest easily. Seeds such as - barley, linseed, sunflower, safflower, corn, green peas and canary seeds can also be served to pet pigeons.
3. Supplements for pigeon: it is a good idea to add supplements in your pigeon’s diet. Supplements will help in keeping your pet healthy. Supplement such as - vitamins, calcium, grit and gravel are good for pigeons. At times, pigeon requires other supplements such as – game bird crumbles, water soaked dog biscuit and water and milk soaked bread.
4. Lofts for pigeon: Pigeons require proper loft in order to fly freely. Mostly pigeons love to fly freely in sky. One can use lofts for ornamental purpose as well.
5. Water for pigeons: Fresh and clean water is important for sustain the health of your pigeon. It is advisable to change the water of your pigeon regularly in order to avoid bacterial growth.
6. Pigeon feeders: pigeon feeders are used to store the food of pet pigeon so that they can have it any time. It is important for one to choose best feeder for their pigeon. It should be easy to use so that your pigeon can have food easily.
