Every horse requires some tacks to maintain their safety and to enjoy being ridden. Since you would like to ride your horse pleasantly and safely therefore, you will need an array of items to help make this much easier. The items that are used for caring horses while ridden are known as horse tack.

Types of tacks for horses:

1. Horse saddles: This horse tack is significant for all types of horses and placed on the horse’s back, where the rider sits. It comes in various types and their preference is entirely dependent on the kind of riding you do. The saddle must be comfortable for both the rider as well as the horse. {People can use some accessories for the saddle as well such as, breast plate, scuringle, breecher and pack saddle etc.

Saddles are broadly divided into categories, “Western Saddles” and “English Saddles”. Though Western saddle seat are more comfortable and safe than the English one still people prefer more English saddles because of its great looks. Saddles are one of the pricey tacks of horses.

2. Horse Girth: Girth is the strap that clutches the saddle on the horse’s back. The rider must make sure that the girth is comfortable to the horse as well as it must be tight enough to ensure the rider’s safety.

3. Horse bridle: It is a headgear for a horse and is attached with the bit. It is used to controls horse movement by applying mild pressure to the horse’s head and mouth. The basic function of this tack is to control the direction of the horse. It is significant for all horse as it is used to direct the horses. It is mainly comes in two types the hackamore and Snaffle.

4. Horse reins: Reins are the leather straps that are attached to the ends of a bit and reach to the rider’s hands. It helps riders to have a control on his horse. By pulling the reins the rider can control all features of the horse’s movement. Like – how fast it moves, to make him move left, right or straight. It is significant for riders to have complete control on their horse.

5. Horse stirrups: Stirrups are made up of metal and are used to provide support and stability to the rider’s feet. This is located on the each side of the horse. Its length can be adjusted in respect to the rider’s height.

6. Horse martingale: It is used to keep horse’s head in correct position. It is significant for those horses that are used for jumping and other sports. Martingales are broadly classified as running martingale, standing martingale, German martingale and Irish martingale. It is wrapped around horse’s chest. It is the best protection tack to stop your horse from tossing its head high.

The above mentioned tacks of horses are the basic tacks which are normally used for all types of horses. People can pick other tacks also according to their pocket capacity such as – blinkers, bit, cinches, safety vest, whip etc.
