Tortoiseshell and White Persian

The Tortoiseshell and White Persian has the three tortoiseshell colours: black, red and cream (or their dilute forms with chocolate, blue or lilac replacing lack), welldistributed and broken and interspersed with white. In America some bodies recognize a similar cat but most call it the Calico Persian - because of a resemblance of the fur to a popular cotton print - and describe it as a white cat with black and red patching, much more white being apparent than in the British type and the underparts especially being white. Like the Tortoiseshell, this is a sex-linked variety and it appears in females only.

It’s a loving cat, quite affectionate towadrs its owners and those friends of its owners who treat it with respect and kindness. Generallt calm, the Tortoiseshell and White is more tranquil and less active than many breeds. It is sociable towards other cat and rarely shows its claws. However, this cat can have atemper and can be demanding of affection. A skilled mouser, it also enjoys life inside.

The fur is silky, thick and dense. It forms a full frill about the neck and shoulders. The body is of the solid, cobby type, broad and compact and powerful.

Intensive-brushing with a soft bristle brush is needed daily.
