Types of fishes for aquarium
There are more than 28000 species of fish in the world therefore it is difficult for one to choose fishes for aquarium. Though mostly fish looks similar but there is a great need to understand fishes before you put them in aquarium. Fishes comes in different varieties. Some fishes are rounded while others are stretched out, certain fish can be very big. Every fish have their unique appearances. Moreover they come in many colors. one can choose varietry of fishes for aquarium. We can’t discuss all types of the fishes here so we will discuss common types of fishes for aquarium here.
Types of fishes for aquarium:
1. Goldfish: It is the most common type of aquarium fish. It is one of the most colorful and striking fish till now. Goldfishes are of many types. Some of the unusual types of goldfish’s are- the pearlscale, oranda and ranchu, common types of goldfishes are - common goldfish, fantail, veiltail and moor. There are even fancy types of goldfishes as well like -the celestial and pom pom. They keep on growing by time. The drawback of the Goldfishes is that they produce a lot of waste.
2. Neon Tetra: Neon Tetra is also one of the best fish for the aquariums. They usually form groups and then move around. If the tank is properly lit then the green color of the neon scales glow. Since they are small in size therefore they should be kept with small size fishes and they should be non aggressive.
3. Guppies: It is the best option for the beginners as they can tolerate average to sensible changes in water. The Male species of these fishes are more fancy and colorful than the female species. The drawback of keeping these fishes in tank is that when they breed they cause overcrowding in the tank.
4. Swordtail: They are also easy to maintain and good for beginners to keep in aquarium. They are commonly found in orange to bright red color. As they can be aggressive at times therefore, one should not put them with smaller fishes. These fishes have one different quality i.e. they have a sword like wing at their tailfin.
