Types of goldfish
Gold fish is one of the most well-liked fishes of aquarium as it is colorful and beautiful as well. Since gold fishes are fairly hardy aquatic creatures therefore caring for goldfish are relatively simple. Taking care of a goldfish is much easier than caring for other types of fishes. There is also one hitch in having this fish in aquarium. It generates a lot of waste.
Gold fishes are of different types but there is something that makes all of them similar to each other. The body of gold fish is generally extended, back is red, sides are golden, and the belly is yellowish, Fins can be red, orange or yellow. Types of Gold fish:
1. Shubunkin goldfish: This type of gold fish is of two types - London Shubunkin and Bristol Shubunkin. It has very elegant color pattern as compare to other gold fishes. The base color of this type of goldfishes is mostly blue, violet and pearl with orange, gold, red, white, black, grey and brown patches on it. The most common habit of this fish is that they eat bottom feed. It helps in keeping the tank clean. The advantage of keeping these fishes in aquarium is that they eat bottom feed which helps in keeping the aquarium clean. Generally, they live up to 10 years and grow to 30 cm in length.
2. Bubble eye goldfish: This type of goldfish is not that much popular. It has bog eyes which look like bubbles that are filled with water and are hanged on the both side of a head. They can survive alone as well. So one can put them in separate tank. If you keep them with other fishes, than make sure that the other fishes are cal enough.
3. Comet goldfish: It is hardy goldfish type therefore it is very common and good for beginners to keep. It has long slender body and long tail. It is usually of red, white, orange and yellow in color. Since it has high tolerance of cold water therefore, it is suitable for garden ponds and cold water aquariums.
4. Fantail goldfish: It has an egg shaped body and high dorsal fins that make it look beautiful. Since it is easy to keep therefore it is a good option for novice. These fishes can live up to 20 years. It is usually of orange, black on orange and white and orange in color.
5. Black moor goldfish: This type of goldfish is very much admired by people because of their striking looks. This fish has short, round stomachs, a split tail fin, and 2 big round eyes from the side of its head. These fishes can live up to 17 years and are of solid black in color. The advantage of keeping this type of fish in aquarium is that it is easy to keep and a good option for novice.
6. Oranda goldfish: This type of goldfish is also admired by people because of their striking looks. It can live up to 16 years and usually of black, midnight blue, calico, blue, lemon, and red in color.
