Types of horse trailers
Horse trailer refers to transport of horses from one place to another. Horse trailers come in wide variety of designs and are highly essential for people who are engaged in transportation of horses.
Since all horses have a different size therefore, size of trailer oscillates from horse to horse. Large variety of colors, sizes, shapes and material usually confuse one in selecting good horse trailer. One requires ample of knowledge about different horse trailers before buying a right horse trailer for his horse.
Types of horse trailers:
1. The stock trailer: This type of horse trailer is hardly admired by people as doesn’t contain any partitions to separate the horses. Moreover, it doesn’t contain any drop down windows. These trailers contain accommodation of three to four horses. Since the floors of this trailer are not thick therefore they are hardly preferred by people. The biggest disadvantage of this trailer is that they are heavy to pull.
2. The slant load trailer: it is quite admired by people as they have good capacity. These trailers contain accommodation of about ten horses depending upon the size. These trailers are comfortable as compare to the straight load trailer. Moreover, starting, stopping and turning aren’t as difficult in a slant load.
3. The straight load trailer: this type of trailers is also admired by people. These trailers have accommodation of two horses along with a manger area. Horses are more at ease in a slant load trainer as compare to straight load trailer.
It is significant for owner to under the needs of his horse while hauling so that he could target those specifics while purchasing trailer for it. It is a good idea to take a test drive of the trailer before purchasing it to check its working. Horse trailer must have ventilation system in it so that horse can breathe properly. It should contain safety chains in it to protect the horses in case of emergency.
