Types of pigeon houses:

1. Pigeon Aviary: Aviary is a good option for medium and large size pigeons. It is meant to be kept in a day light. This height of this house is 2 to 2.5 m.
2. Pigeon dovecote or lofts: It is a good choice for the birds that want to fly free. It is one of the natural ways of housing pigeon.
3. Pigeon cages: It is an ideal choice for small pigeons. Rectangular cage is more enhanced than the square one. The bar spacing of this cage should be small so that the bird cannot get its head out through it. Partially enclosed or box type cage are also a good option for small pigeon because that are more secure. One should keep the cage in bright light areas however; make sure that it is not kept under direct sunlight. This pigeon house should be kept at normal room temperature with humidity 50 to 70 %.
4. Pigeon Nest box: this type of house is required at the time of pigeon breeding for raising their babies. It is a good option for the pigeons that want to be enclosed.

It is a duty of one to regularly clean the house of their pigeon from infections. The house, feeder and water bowl of your pigeon should be regularly cleaned. House of your pigeon should be safe from raccoons, opossums, cat, and dog. By keeping their pigeon house at an appropriate height one can protect their pigeon form unwanted animals. .
