Ticks are the hardiest and most harmful of the blood-sucking pests. They have eight legs and can be easily seen by the naked eyes. They can transmit several diseases in addition to sucking the blood of dogs. Ticks can live without food for about 2 years in the crevices. Hence it is important to check for ticks everyday when the dog is groomed. Ticks are not generally removed by brushing or combing.
