Cat Nose Bleed
Nose bleeds can occur from trauma (if your cat is hit by a car or has a bad fall), infection. Tumors, violent sneezing, bleeding disorders or the presence of foreign bodies may occur in nose. The cat has a rich blood supply in the nose, and bleeding can occur with the slightest injury.
You should also be aware that there are many bleeding disorders that are now being identified. In these instances, there are usually other signs, such as red blotches on the gums and ears, pale gums, weakness, and collapse. Some poisons such as Warfarin can cause generalized bleeding that can include severe nose bleeds.
Cat Nose Bleed Home Remedies
The cat's nose consists of a bony part and a soft part (the turbinate). The area of the nose that is usually involved in nosebleeds lies within the soft portion. Cats are nose breathers, so they will naturally resist any attempt to clear the nose, especially when the air passage is blocked. Squeezing the nostril for a few minutes or applying cold compresses or ice across the nose may help. If nose bleeds are a recurrent problem or are becoming frequent, a veterinarian should be consulted.
