Dog Cold Symptoms
Dogs may suffer through variety of respiratory disorders and often many of them are similar to that of human beings. Though the virus that affects humans and causes cold and cough are different from those of dogs there are many symptoms that are quite common among dog cold symptoms as well as human cold symptoms. Dogs suffering from cold have experience symptoms like constant sneezing, coughing, and runny nose with runny eyes. The following are the symptoms associated with the various respiratory diseases. Some Common Dog Cold Symptoms Parainfluenza: This disease is a chronic form of respiratory illness and is characterized by repeated coughing and sneezing. Canine Kennel Cough: The kennel cough is quite common among dogs. The disease generally occurs when several dogs stay in a confined kennel. The immune system of dogs has the capacity to eradicate the disease naturally but being a responsible dog owner you may take your dog to a good vet surgeon for proper treatment of kennel cough. The symptoms of kennel cough include raspy form of cough bringing up of the phlegm. Though various types of virus may be responsible for the kennel cough but in most cases the disease is caused by the bacteria named Bordetella bronchiseptica. Adenovirus type-2: This is a virus which is responsible for causing various types of symptoms of cold and may even cause the disease kennel cough. Pneumonia: Pneumonia is the condition caused when the diseases occurred due to the attack of virus, cold or kennel cough is left untreated for a prolonged period of time. In pneumonia the inflammation of the lungs takes place accompanied by coughing and breathing difficulty. Distemper: The symptoms of cold along with illness and signs of gastro intestinal symptoms are commonly found in this disease. Dogs should be vaccinated beforehand as the occurrence of the disease is associated with severe forms of illness and high mortality rate. The completion of one single cycle takes place for from 10 to 14 days. If you have a young puppy or an old dog suffering from the symptoms of cold you are recommended to take your dog to a good vet immediately. In case of an adult and otherwise healthy dog you may treat your pet with effective home made remedies unless the symptoms of cold are too severe in cold. On taking your dog to a vet clinic your pet would at first be medically examined by the physician. Blood tests accompanied are conducted and if the doctor suspects the dog to be suffering from pneumonia or breathing problems chest X rays are taken to find out any incidence of pneumonia.

Although dogs do have disease conditions with many signs similar to human colds, they do not have colds only humans and chimpanzees have colds. A cold is a respiratory disease.
