Fish Tank stands

A good looking fish tank stand can make all the required difference to your décor in the house as well as to your aquarium. Aquarium stands can match with your furniture, while supporting your aquarium. Fish tank stands also have storage facility where you can keep away not so required stuff out of the way.

With the help of fish tank stands, the fish can be displayed at good height which makes maintenance and viewing the fish a much easier option. Some tanks are designed in a specific manner to hold the weight of the tank.

Fish tank stands are stands that are made to place the tanks at a height which makes it convenient to maintain the tank and to view its beauty. These stands are also made to hold the weight of the fish tank. There are smaller fish tank stands that are made of 40 gallons i.e. up to 152 liters. The larger tank stands are made of 50 gallons i.e. up to 190 liters and are made of pressure treated wood. There are fish tank stands which are made of medium density fiberboard or painted acrylic. There are stands that are made of marble, granite, stone, and other natural textures which are expensive. There are various types of fish tank stands, from which one can choose such as:

  1. Cast iron stands: Cast iron fish tank stands are basic tanks, which have a rectangular top lip along with cross braces. Cast iron stands are made of glass, which makes the stand light as well as portable in nature.
  2. Pressure treated wood fish stands: Large tanks which carry a lot of water weight require a strong support. Pressure treated wood stands are rot resistant. These stands can carry a lot of weight since they are made up of a solid top and a strong base which can extend beyond the walls to maintain stability.

Pressure treated wood fish tank stands are made with cabinet facility. The cabinet offers plenty of storage facility for aquarium supplies, wet or dry filters and canister filters. With the back of the stand being open, it makes tubing and electrical wiring easy.

There are other fish tank stands which are made up of medium density fibreboard and painted acrylic material. Depending on what you want and what you require for your aquarium you can choose from marble, granite, stone and some natural textures as well.
When you buy a fish tank stand, you would have to consider the weight of the aquarium along with decorations in the aquarium and the gravel. Gravel as well the decorations in aquarium such as plants also carry a considerable amount of weight. Stands would also be useful if the weight of aquarium is over twenty gallons approximately.

Various types of aquariums such as acrylic and glass require a different stands for support. Acrylic aquariums need full support in both the length as well as the width. Glass aquariums would require support only on the outside edges.

You should always remember that the aquarium as well as the stand must be in accordance with each other and must match. One can get stands with the same finish as what is present on the rim of the tank. For example, if your aquarium has an oak rim, it would be best suited with an oak tank stand.

You should also take into consideration the room in which the aquarium would be kept and the décor which is present in the room. You can get the desired fish tank stand along with the desired finish.
Appropriate fish tank stands, would enhance the ambience of the room and would also enhance the look of the fish.
