Tropical Fish Tank Health
It is not easy for a person to maintain a tropical fish tank health as it requires ample and regular attention. If you are responsible and reliable enough than you can have it at your place. There are thousands of fishes available but not all are suitable for a tropical aquarium so before owing tropical aquarium all you need to know is the tips that will guide you in handling a tropical fish tank
The following things that would be required to maintain proper health of tropical fish tank are mentioned below:
- Temperature: Since the tropical fish tank contains fishes that are found mostly in warmer environment such as – lakes of Africa, Asia and America. Therefore the ideal temperature for the water of tropical fish tank should be 74 °F to 80 °F.
- Artificial heater: This type of fish tank requires an artificial heater to maintain adequate temperature of water in aquarium as since it includes fishes of warm region
- Algae: Regularly use algae scrubber to clean algae from the fish tank as algae is unhealthy for the fishes. Algae scrubbers are usually expensive and work only for a month.
- Avoid sunlight: Keep your fish tank away from the direct sunlight as it leads to formation of green algae as well as it burns the tropical fishes also.
Suitable fishes: some of the fishes that are suitable for tropical fish tank are - Tetras, Barbs, Rasboras, Cichlids, Anabantoids, Livebearers and certain species of Catfish.
- Feed: Feed the fish as much as the fish can eat in two minutes without any food leaving in the tank and one should feed one time a day. Regularly take out the uneaten food from the tank. Feed your fish the nutritional food of high quality. Fish food is entirely dependent on the fish that you own. Some of the common foods for the tropical fish tank fishes are – frozen blood worms, flakes, live blood worms, micro pellets and brine shrimp
- Change water: These types of fishes require regular water changes. And make sure that the water that is added to a tank is safe foe fish and is according to the temperature that the fishes needs.
- Aerator: It is essential almost for every fish tank as it provides oxygen in the tank. it blows air inside the tank which helps the fishes to breathe.
- Decoration: One can decorate his fish tank by putting artificial or natural plants, rocks, gravel, pebbles and stones.
- Water conditioner: It is essential for the health of tropical fish tank as it helps in removing chlorine effect from the water.
- Observation: tropical fish tank requires regular observation as tropical fish catches diseases easily. Keep an eye on them and if you find any kind of abnormal fish movement then remove the fish and keep it in a different tank for few days until it get back normal.
These tips will help in making your tropical fish tank healthy. To raise the lifespan of your tropical fish tank all you need to do is follow these tips regularly.
