Types of Fish Aquariums

Fish Aquariums has become the striking and elegant equipment to decorate your homes. Aquariums have some kind of charisma in it that automatically makes you forget of your pains and sufferings.

It is significant for the people to provide proper care to fish aquariums. All fish aquariums have different needs and require different things. The several types of fish aquariums are mentioned below.

  1. Community fish aquariums: These fish aquariums mainly consist of the combination of fish and plants with good color and stamina and are originated from different geographical areas. These are the long lasting aquariums if it is followed with proper attention and care that is required by all the aquariums.
  2. Goldfish aquariums: This is the most attractive type of fish aquarium. It is mostly admired by the beginners. It includes Ryunkins and Lion heads, pearls caper plastic plants, black gravel and grey and white granite stones. After all combined in one container makes an attractive aquarium in contrast with the bright colors of goldfish.
  3. African cichlid aquariums: This aquarium includes either Lake Tanganyika or Lake Malawi cichlids. People are adviced not to mix these two types of fishes together because of the character and diet difference between the two. This type of aquarium need large quantities of rockwork combined with a fine substrate, gravel or sand. This aquarium requires proper adjustment of rocks to avoid likely collapses.
  4. Planted aquariums: This aquarium includes more plants as compared to fishes. It doesn’t require any other decoration as it includes huge number of plants. It mostly consists of smaller tetras and angel fishes. It also requires algae controlling species of fish, such as Siamese flying fox.
  5. Fresh water aquarium: It includes fishes that are originally from rivers and streams. It is mainly of two types that are mentioned below:
    1. Tropical fish aquariums: These types of aquariums include fishes that are found in warmer climates such as the lakes of Africa, Asia and America. Some examples of fishes that this aquarium requires are - Tetras, Barbs, Rasboras, Cichlids, Anabantoids, Livebearers and certain species of Catfish. These fishes require 74 degrees Fahrenheit to 80 degrees Fahrenheit water temperature. This setup usually requires artificial heaters in order to satisfy fishes need. It can be decorated with natural and artificial plants, rocks, gravel, pebbles and stones
    2. Cold water fish aquariums: These types of aquariums include fishes that are suitable in colder climate. Examples of the fishes that are suitable for this type of aquarium are - Gold fish and kois. These fishes require above 15 degree Fahrenheit water temperature. This setup usually requires artificial plants as gold fish eat natural plants. It can be decorated with pebbles and stones.
  6. Salt water aquariums: This type of aquarium requires filter to clean water regularly. This type of fish aquarium usually gets brown color algae so it requires cleaning of the algae after every week. This type of aquarium usually requires heaters and the prescribed amount of marine salt. It can be decorated with pebbles, gravel, stones and plants.
