Aquarium Accessories

Aquarium Accessories These are some aquarium accessories that you will need to for your aquarium upkeep. Algae Scraper
Use these to scrape algae aquarium accessories from the glass. Some are like little scouring pads, which can be fitted onto long handles. Another type is like a plastic trowel on a stick. You can fit a razorblade to this type but avoid damaging the silicone sealant, as this could cause nasty leak! The most ingenious type consists of two magnets that cling together through the glass so that as you pull the outer one the inner one cleans away the algae.

Tubing
You will need some wide-bore plastic tubing (say I .25cm/ 0.5in) to siphon water out of the tank.

Gravel Cleaner
This device fits onto the end of your siphon tubing and digs into the gravel while you siphon water out. As the dirt comes out of the gravel, the gravel drops back so that only dirt and not gravel is removed in the flow of water. Some gravel cleaners have a pump action to start the siphon flow. This is a good aquarium accessories used to clean gravels.

Net for Removing Fish
It would be wise to buy at least one, if not two nets from the outset. Try to pick a soft net and one that is a little larger than half the tank's width. In this air-driven 'vacuum cleaner', the rising stream of air bubbles causes water to flow up the tube and through the net bag, where debris is strained off,

Magnetic glass cleaners are useful for deeper tanks, where access to the louver areas is generally difficult. Moving the outer magnetic block drags the inside one across the glass and the plastic brush like surface scrapes off any algae.

Lighting Accessories
There should reach sufficient and adequate amount of light in the aquarium as light helps fishes to overcome stress and helps them to remain strong and healthy. It’s our duty to give them proper light cycle so that they will feel homey. We should provide them facility of 12 hours day light and also show them proper night of again 12 hours so that they will feel normal in the aquarium.

In light accessories we can have power center with day-night timer which administers the aquarium environment by providing it artificial day, night facility. There is an aquarium light timer also which helps in adapting tension free plan for day and night. Similarly fluorescent is another lighting accessories which is available in different colors in the market and they are low priced. Compact fluorescent as the name suggests that they are the fluorescent lighting only but are more compact, stronger, durable and brighter than the fluorescent and consumes less energy. Lighting timers and power strips etc are some other lighting accessories which we use in the aquarium.

Aquarium Hoods
An aquarium hood prevents the fishes to jump out so that the fishes will remain safe, they also prevent water evaporation and this doesn’t reduce water level of the aquarium.

Aquarium Canopies
Aquarium canopies are same as the aquarium hoods but are slightly better than the aquarium hoods as they help in controlling water evaporation very tightly. Their look is very fine, lustrous and powerful. Information on aquarium accessories is very important if you want to keep your fishes healthy and fine.
