Apart from this you have to maintain the conditions of the aquarium such as temperature, supplying protein rich food and introducing water pollutants in order to get rid of the waste products from the aquarium etc, so that the female fish can mate easily. Healthy diet is very necessary for the Cichlid fish if you want them to tolerate the entire situation and the pace of the breeding of Cichlid fish depends on the diet which is an important thing to consider.
In breeding of Cichlid the temperature should be 76oC to 78oC so that the fish can hatch their eggs easily. Hard and alkaline water is good for Cichlid Breeding. Food should be rich in proteins and just deliver them proper amount of food so that they will not remain hungry at any time of their breeding stage.
Cichlid fish breeding is talented properly when your female fish doesn't get strained, a weak fish can get harassed very easily because she doesn’t has power to tolerate the nuisance of the male fish. It’s better if you introduce several females to one male so that the violent behavior of the male fish is not limited to only one female fish.
When a pair is ready to spawn, both fish select a rock and peck it clean. An egg tube, or ovipositor, starts to protrude from the female's underside and eventually she lays her eggs on the rock and the male fertilizes them. They lay a total of 100-200 and once all the eggs are laid, the female take sup position fanning them with her fin sand pecking them clean. Both parents guard the eggs from all other fish, attacking potential predators if they approach too closely.
The eggs hatch after about three days and the arietta them to a hole that they have dug in the gravel. Here they are guarded for another week until they can swim for themselves. At this stage, the whole family goes out and about together to find food, which you should supply in the form of newly hatched brine shrimp.
The behavior of the Cichlid fish is very close to human being. Female fishes make their pair with male fishes and some of them pair up for the whole life like human beings and if one fish dies in the pair the other will not pair up with any other mate. They send their young ones out in the world so that they learn to survive from there own.
One method to increase the breeding of the cichlid fish is to save the fry from other fishes. Emit the fry in the separate tank so that they will remain safe there. In this case the female fish doesn’t have to worry about her fry. If we will take care of Cichlid breeding we will get the better result.
