Cuboids aquarium is known as fish tanks or simply tanks while bowl shaped aquariums are known as fish bowls. Fish tanks are constructed mainly of glass or high quality plastic. It is therefore very important to take quality care of the fish tanks, primarily on which the health and life of the fish depends. Here are a few tips which should be kept in mind when taking care of the fish tanks or aquariums;
- Water is the most important part of fish tanks. Water should be tested, of chlorine and dissolved gases before being put into the tank. Water should be changed regularly as it turns cloudy after some days. Escaping which can lead to infections in the fish.
- Temperature in the aquarium depends on the species. Tanks should be provided with heaters to control the temperature. Every tank needs a thermometer which either is fixed at the surface or keeps floating. It donates the temperature change.
- Light is an integral part of a fish tank. It can be natural or artificial about 12 hours of light per day is optimum. Fish need light to see, feed, or reproduce. Light plays an important part in their changing color.
- Location is very important for the fish tank. The location should conform to the fish’s likings. Near a window is a preferable place for the fish tank, where there is enough sun light. Avoid locations near the heaters and radiators.
There are millions of people who own pets. Most people opt for standard pets like cat and dog, while some people like to keep pet birds, fish, and horse. Keeping a pet fish has various advantages then other pets. People who have allergies cannot keep pets like dogs, cats or horses. For these people, fish is the best animal to be kept as a pet and enjoy their company. People who live in homes that do not have backyards can own a pet fish. Fishes are kept in tanks that are made of transparent glasses or of high quality plastic. Before you get the fish tank, there are various things that are to be considered.
Keeping the Tank:
- The location for placing the tank is important and crucial. Before you buy the tank, consider the equipments that are required to run the fish tank. Check whether there is adequate space to keep the tank and the equipments and you can easily access the equipments and the tank for their maintenance.
- Keep the fish tank in a place where you can handle water spillage. It is advisable to keep the tank on a linoleum, tile, or on a rug where you can easily clean the water. Fish tank should be kept at a perfect location where you can enjoy the perfect view of the beautiful fishes.
- The most important part to consider while keeping the tank is whether the tank should be kept in the way of direct sunlight. It is advisable to place the tank in an area where it can get indirect sunlight. Direct exposure to sunlight might cause algae growth which is not good for fish growth.
Cleaning of fish tanks:
- One can use things like, algae scraper/pad, bleach, razor blade, water siphon, lemon, glass cleaner, paper towels.
- After cleaning your tank thoroughly, make sure there is no residue of the soap bleach etc or they might harm the fish.
- You can there after decorate the tank with rocks and artificial plants depending upon the specie and its adaptability to them.
By following these tips you can not only make your tank look even more beautiful but also enhance the life of your beloved fish. Fish tank or aquarium plays the most important part in keeping your fish hail and hearty.
