Puffer Fish
Just like box fishes, puffer fishes have an awkward, unfish like shape and use their fins, rather than their bodies, for forward motion. But instead of a hard casing of scales, puffers have the most soft and pliable skin, which allows the fish to inflate itself many times greater than its original size in times of danger. Puffers can do this in or out of water, using water or air. Although they do not give off a poison, many of them have poisonous flesh, so marine and human predators must exercise caution when eating them. Puffers are good aquarium fishes - they are hardy, have strong personalities and are disease-resistant. T are often quite greedy and sometimes tear food away from other fish. The puffers' hey rarely cause problems with other fish and eat almost anything. In fact, they natural diet includes many small crustaceans, mollusc's and urchins, which they attack with their strong 'beak', so they are not suitable subjects for a mixed invertebrate aquarium, although they would not harm corals or anemones.
The boxfish (Obstruction) starts out as small as 1cm and very pale yellow with black dots. As it grows, the body elongates and the patterning turns dark mustard with blue spots. Just as striking is the white-spotted boxfish (Obstruction elegies), this is also one of the festal species. Both sexes have ad ark body with white spots, but thermal's patterns are more vivid, with additional tints of blue on the fins.
