Horse Lice
Lice are a common problem irritating the skin of neglected orungroomed animals. They can be seen together with their eggsand cast-off skins in the mane and the base of the tail. They feedon the horse's blood causing itching, debility and loss of hair.Cure can be effected by sprinkling agricultural louse powderdown the mane and along the back of the animal. This kills onlythe lice and not the eggs, so it is necessary to repeat the treatmentover a period of several weeks. Where possible the horse shouldbe clipped, the clippings burned and the horse's coat run overlightly with a singeing lamp.
