Measuring the Height of the Horse
The height of the horse is measured in 'hands', one hand being4in. Where the horse is not a complete number of hands thefractions are measured in inches. The horse may therefore be '15hands and 2in high'. He should he measured unshod, standingnaturally on d, level ground, with his head at a natural level.Ills height is the vertical distance from the highest part of thewithers to the ground.
