It is important for people to know about the basic reptile products that are required by reptiles in order to make their reptile flourish. There are some products that are necessary to purchase when you own a reptile for your home.
Essential Reptile products
- Reptile incubator: Reptile incubator is used to provide an ideal temperature to the reptile eggs. Basically it is used to hatch the eggs of a reptile. It is available in a wide range of styles and design. The common types of reptile are – chicken egg incubator, home made incubator and reptile farm incubator.
- Reptile bedding: Bedding for reptile is totally dependent on the type of reptile you own. One should avoid the use of crushed walnut shells as it can cause impaction. You can use bedding made form natural bark, wheatgrass, natural alfalfa, moss, coconut, Douglas fir and other types of reptile bedding quality or you can have carpet as reptile bedding.
- Lighting for reptiles: Most of the reptiles require UVA and UVB lights. One can provide ultraviolet light to their reptile by using a Reptistar fluoro tube or ReptiSun 5.0or ReptiSun 2.0. Reptistar and ReptiSun are mostly used for reptiles. Lightings help to increase appetite, activity and reproductive behavior in captive reptiles. It also helps in preventing diseases and infections occurring. Strong Blacklight Blue (BLB) or poster globes can affect your reptile eyes. Therefore one should avoid the use of extremely strong Blacklight.
- Food for reptiles: It is important for one to determine what type of food your reptile requires. Small reptiles like geckos love to eat crickets. An additional reptile may eat mealworms, giant mealworms, wax worms, locust or silkworms. Large reptile may eat snakes, rats, rabbits, mice, chicks. Whether it eats insects or rodents, make sure that it should not be overfeed. Overfeeding can turn your reptile ugly. So one should avoid putting more live food than the reptile can eat in a day or two.
- Enclosure for reptiles: It is essential for one to provide proper enclosure to your reptile in order to make them feel comfortable. One can use a terrarium, vivarium or other type of enclosure for their reptiles as it will provide housing to them. Nowadays reptile habitats also serve as one of the elegant and striking way to decorate your house.
- Vitamins for reptiles: Vitamins are essential for keeping your reptile healthy. One can easily get vitamin powder and calcium powder for their reptile on a nearby pet store. One can coat the food of their reptile with vitamin powder in order to provide additional nutrient to them.
The above mentioned products are significant for reptiles to keep them well built and active. These products will help to add charm and majesty to reptiles.
