SNAKE TANK

A cozy and comfortable tank is the prime prerequisite if you are planning to tame a snake. Things needed to make a snake tank a comfortable place to live in are

  1. Food Dish
  2. Heat lamp
  3. Water dish
  4. Stick to climb
  5. Stone for sunning
  6. Bedding
  7. Hiding area
  8. Metal or mesh lid
  9. Full spectrum light
Pour Perfect Bedding for Your Snake:

The first step towards making the tank a comfortable place to live in will be pouring of the perfect bedding according to the snake specie. Whatever be the size of your snake, the bedding should never be less than an inch. Choose the bedding texture that caters the need of the specie you are going to own.

Placing the Right Fixture in a Snake Tank is Vital:

One must place a comfortable fixture or rock within the tank so that the snake can lie on or under it as and when required. If the tank owned is not very spacious then one can probably go for a hollowed fixture as well which might serve the purpose of hiding area also.

A Full Spectrum Light Fixture is a Must in a Snake Tank:

It is a must to keep a full spectrum light fixture be it a small or a large tank as the snakes are cold blooded reptiles which need external warmth to regulate the body temperature. The UVB/UVA light bulbs play a vital role in regulating the body temperature of your reptile. Try keeping it on the lid of the tank. Snakes and other reptiles require sunlight and vitamins as much as the humans do.

Water or Food Bowl Makes Important Snake Tank Accessory:

Go and collect information about your snake. If it is a desert dweller then one just needs to keep a food bowl as the snake dwellers suck the required from their food. In case the snake is not a desert dweller then put both shallow water and food bowl in the tank.

It Is the Must to Lid Your Snake Tank :

When it comes to safety and security measures, it is the must to keep a full lid on your snake tank. This will not only prevent your snake to make an escape but will also keep the unwanted elements away from entering and harming your snake.

Implant a Branch or Limb to Create the Feel of Natural Habitat within the Snake Cage:

If the specie you own loves to climb across, then do put in few limbs and branches to make the tank look bit like the natural habitat where the snake originally belonged to. Creating a natural feel within is not only pleasing but also cozy for the snake living within.

If one keeps a strict eye over these points while designing a snake tank, I am sure no damn thing can stop you from spending some jovial and carefree years with your reptile. So wishing you all the best for the hail and hearty years you’ve planned to spend with your reptile.
