Providing proper nutritious food is a matter of concern for all pet owners. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, money or a reptile diet is one of the major factors for maintaining good health. Nuts like Brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds can be given as treats to your pet rat.
- Though a common house rat feeds itself on any food item it finds fit to be eaten, pet rats should be taken proper care for maintaining good health in captivity. There are certain food items that are not to be provided to the pet rats as they can turn out to be poisonous for them. Food items like chocolates, raw beans, sweet potatoes, cabbage, sprouts of Brussels, green potatoes, sweet treats and junk foods, cold drinks and caffeine constituent drinks should not be given to the rat.
