In such cases, the pet day care centers act as substitute care givers for the pet animals. The rate of day care depends on the services provided by them. It can be feeding, bedding and toys. Vaccination can also be provided but with an extra charge.

Cost of actual day care
The day care rates may vary according to the pet animal you possess. For example the cost for day care center for dog is higher than that of cat.

For a half day, minimum five hours of playtime, where the owner chooses a convenient time slot, day care rate may vary from 10USD to 25USD a day.

For a full day, that can be from 7 am to 6pm, the day care rates can be between 15USD to 40USD. Monthly packages are too available for the pets to enroll in a day care center. For example, dog day care monthly package costs between 250USD TO 600USD.

Many pet care centers may charge an application fee between 3USD and 40USD. Many day care centers offer pickup and delivery service for 10 TO 15 USD each way. Most of them fine owners who arrive late for pickup. Also, some centers charge full price for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

Boarding services
Boarding services are not only for pet dogs and cats, but also for other types of pets like hamsters, horses, rats, etc. This service is usually opted by people who have to be away from home for a long time. Pets can be kept for several months in these places.

The costs of these services are too high as the time duration for taking care of these pets is more. The cost per day for the boarding services is 90USD per day including night. The monthly package varies according to the pet animal.

Larger commercial day care centers have more facilities and staff involved. So the costs of these centers are more than the home- day care centers. Their cost is less as they provide fewer facilities. Day care rates may vary from city to city in United States. In large cities and on the east coast and west coasts the cost is 30 percent more expensive than the normal costs. But the availability of day care centers is more in these areas.
