Ask the number of dogs a walker can take out together. If the number exceeds than eight, than it is not a good sign. More the number of dogs more are the risk of dog getting involved in conflict and injury. It is impossible for a walker to pay attention to each dog. So select a walker which does not carry a group of more number of dogs.

Is the walker alone or is with a companion
A walker’s job is to keep dog safe and have a good time together. Walker should be focused on the dogs all the time. Teaming up with a friend can be fun, but this can reduce attention. If the companion is a friend and is a dog walker, going out together combines two sets of dogs, which may cause more distracting situations and conflicts. So, walker should hit the trail alone and not with other companions. Cell phones and other distracting devices should be turned off during dog walks.

Ask for the size of dogs that are made to walk together. Small dogs can be injured if they walk or play with the large ones. So if you possess a small dog, insists that your dog only walks with dogs of his/her size.
