Pet Spa

Pet SpaPet spa is a place where pets are treated with body massage and later they are given bath with a shampoo. In a pet spa other services like grooming and feeding are too provided. Grooming pets in a pet spa center is as much for our benefit as it is for theirs. They provide good bath, haircut, nail trimming, and a swipe of the ears. This makes the pets feel fresh and energetic.

Spas play a major role in keeping pets healthy and fit. Like human beings, animals too need proper care and attention. Apart from healthy food, they also need other treatments to make them look happy and cute. To make your pet look cute, you need to take some little effort and spend some dollars. But that should not affect you, because pets are like our family members.

Many pets are enrolled for spa treatment. What matters are the procedures, staff and the emergency measures of the spa treatment center?

Here are some things to consider before taking your pet to a pet spa:

Staff:
Confirm whether the staff if well trained in handling the animals. Apart from the love for animals, are they patient and educated enough to treat the pets. Ask how the pets are handled by them. Are the groomers focused on the animal while they are grooming the pets? Some pets are not habitual of sitting quiet. What are the measures taken by the staff to make pets sit for a long time? Is the staff gentle and confident in handling pets?

Cleanliness:
Check with the cleanliness of the pet spa shop. Is it clean enough for you to leave your pet alone? Do they provide a separate area for the pets that are unattended for spa treatment? Are the things in the shop well cultured? Is there anything that can harm your pet in your absence?

Equipments:
Check all the equipments that will be used for treating your pet. Are they safe and secured for your pet. Is there any procedure for sterilizing the equipments after being used by one pet? This is an important issue to be discussed with the groomer as infections can be spread to other animal. There should be an animal cage dryer, where animals are immediately kept in the cage to dry after their bath. In this cage, check the ventilation system, as the dryers can be suffocating to the small as well as large animals. Heated air can cause some pets like dogs a risk of heat prostration.

A quality pet spa treatment salon will ask for proof of vaccinations and immunizations. If the staff fails to ask this information then your pet will be at risk of bringing contagious diseases. Check with all the policies and procedures of the spa center.

Before enrolling your pet for a spa treatment consult your veterinarian for the following reasons:

A veterinarian is the best person to tell you which spa center is the best for your pet. And apart from that there are some equipment that can harm you pet while giving a spa treatment. Consult your veterinarian and ask what will suit your pet animal. Here are some procedures in the treatment that may harm your animal.

Heat:
Animals when left in a dryer can be harmed with excessive heat if left unattended. There are many cases where the staff left the pet in a dryer cage and went to attend another animal. As the animal was in a dryer for a long time, it got burnt and was admitted in hospital. Dryers are safe unless they are frequently monitored.

Allergic products
Check the products that will be used for your pet in a pet spa treatment. Your pet might be allergic to certain products that may cause eyes irritation and skin allergies. So, tell them what is unsuitable for your pet.
