But before we actually get into the details of how to toilet train a rabbit; we need to attend some things first. For properly toilet training your rabbit, you have to make sure that you get the proper litter box for your furry friend. You have to choose the right size of the litter box. The box should be of the size where the rabbit can comfortably fit in. If the box is short in size and the rabbit does not fit well in it, the rabbit will not sit in the box – the result is you will have a hard time to litter train rabbit. So the size of the box should be perfect. The next thing that you need to take care is the material of the litter box. As most of the rabbit have a peculiar habit of eating some of the litter, it is important that you get a litter that does not have any toxic material. There are so many brands that offer materials to be used in the litter box and these brands use non toxic substances. It is best to use organic materials in the litter as that would not cause any harm to the rabbit.

For toilet training of the rabbit the first thing that you have to ensure is that you start early with the training. If the rabbit has grown older and already formed a habit of urinating at different places of the house, you will have a hard time to train the rabbit. So start early and you will have less trouble with the rabbit. You can first start by putting the litter box in the rabbit cage itself at the place that the rabbit generally uses to pee. You can also place a favorite toy of the rabbit in the box to attract the rabbit to come into the litter box. Even then if the rabbit do not get into the litter box itself you can pick the bunny and place it in the box. After the rabbit is done give it some treat with food or toy to let the pet know that it has something good. Keep repeating the process until the rabbit forms the habit of using the litter box. Once the rabbit is using the litter box itself whenever it needs it you can place the litter box at other places of the rooms and eventually train the rabbit to use the litter box placed at other rooms as well.
