Siberian Rabbit
The Siberian was produced in 1930, and is a modern normalfur breed and not to be confused with the Himalayan pointedAngora once called the Siberian but now never seen. Thebreed was made for the purpose of producing uniform skinswhich would be easy to match. The self coloured rabbitsproduced when breeding English formed a large part of themake up of the Siberian, which became quite popular duringthe war, but now is less so. The pelts are not a great dealsought after by the fur trade, for the colours are not entirely to their liking. The quality of the fur also requires muchimprovement for commercial value.
